SAP Procedures Training

The Business Problem
The Abgenix SAP implementation affected hundreds of employees at all levels of the company. Specific job functions were changing, and Abgenix needed to develop SAP self-study, e-learning modules for multiple procedures throughout the organization.

The TechProse Solution
TechProse developed a comprehensive suite of e-learning modules in Skills Lab to provide overviews of each SAP functional area, along with a section of key instructions for performing basic tasks, called "How do I…" The "How do I" section contained a simplified set of basic, task-specific instructions. The left hand menu contained basic conceptual overviews. This allowed participants to select the specific information they needed, without having to review entire modules. While TechProse organized the sections sequentially, each section is also a stand-alone information sequence, so that the user can enter at any point. In addition, TechProse developed an instructor-led introduction to SAP to familiarize staff with the new environment, and trained internal staff as "super-users" for each functional area. In a companion effort, TechProse developed work instructions to act as paper-based reference material for ongoing use.
