HIPAA Privacy Expert for the California Department of Health Services
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) implements security procedures to ensure the confidentiality of health information and data. To be in compliance with HIPAA laws, the California Department of Health Services needed a Business Analyst and Technical Writer to prepare internal feasibility study reports.

Virtual Reality
TechProse developed a browser-based interactive virtual tour for the San Francisco Maritime Museum that allows a visitor to experience what a walk on board one of the eight historic ship would be like, complete with 360 degree zoomable views, and "hotspots" that allow interaction with elements on the ships. This project won an accessibility award from the National Park Service. In addition, the virtual tour proved popular with visitors of all ages and abilities as a supplement to the physical tour of the ships.

HIPAA Assessment, Analysis, and Compliance Monitoring
In order to ensure compliance with HIPAA, the California Department of Health Services (CDHS) needed HIPAA Security Project Manager and Technical Advisor (PM/TA) services to fulfill project manager responsibilities and also to recommend, advise, and provide HIPAA security technical subject matter expertise for the organization over a multi-year period.

Web Site Design and Development
The initial BART web site was designed as a tool primarily for internal staff use. For this reason, it was organized by internal department. Management realized that public access to information required a new design, and issued an RFP.

Management Audit
The Office of the Clerk of the Board experienced tremendous changes in leadership and technology during the late 1990s. In addition, the office faced challenges to provide greater availability, increased content, and faster dissemination of Board records. In light of these challenges, the Board commissioned TechProse to perform an unbiased, third-party review, and provide recommendations for improvement.
