Abgenix holds a leadership position in fully human therapeutic antibodies. The company uses its technology platform to support its product development activities, while offering the platform to its strategic partners and licensing customers. Since 1997, Abgenix has built a unique network of strategic partnerships that includes over 50 academic organizations and leading biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.

The Business Problem
The Abgenix SAP implementation affected hundreds of employees at all levels of the company. Specific job functions were changing, and Abgenix needed to develop SAP work instructions for hundreds of procedures. These procedures needed to be compliant with Federal regulations for each job function. In addition, Abgenix wanted to develop a compatible series of SAP e-learning modules to supplement these procedures.

The TechProse Solution
TechProse provided a team of Technical Writers and Instructional Designers to develop work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and SAP online and instructor-led training for Abgenix' SAP R/3 4.6C installation. All work instructions were specific, functionally oriented procedures for Abgenix. Abgenix is a GMP, GCP, and validated pharmaceutical environment. Modules addressed in the procedures included AM, FI/CO, HR, MM, QM, PM, and PS.
