Case Study: Focus Group Coordination
The Client Profile The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is a part of the U.S. Department of Transportation. Its role is to establish and execute the priorities and direction for the nation's highways and transportation system.
The Business Problem The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) needed a comprehensive course on Emergency Response for Alternative Fuel Vehicles to serve multiple audiences. The course had to be modular enough to be easily changed to train a variety of different members of the response team.
The TechProse Solution TechProse worked with the Volpe Center to develop and facilitate several meetings of a nationwide educational focus group designed to gather information on what this course should cover. We brought together key subject matter experts from multiple disciplines, including transit authorities, fire and police departments, emergency response technicians and others to discuss issues specific to this topic. Based on these facilitated discussions, we developed detailed recommendations for course components that would serve both large and small municipalities. These included tutorial workbooks, expert practices, video components, and online models for response to unique situations.
