Can you introduce me to TechProse and show me how you work?

Visit the TechProse Tutorials Site. These short tutorials introduce you to our company and how we work. They describe the roles of staff, help you navigate the time reporting system, and provide you will information about our competitive benefits plan.

When do I get paid?

If you are a W2 employee, you are paid twice a month. (See our "Consultant Forms" for exact pay dates and time sheet due dates.) Paychecks are cut on the 10th and the 26th of every month. You have the option to pick up your check, get it in the mail, or get direct deposit.

May I have a copy of a blank time sheet?

Consultant Forms may be accessed via the TechProse web site

What if I am not a W2 employee?

If you are incorporated, you must still fax in your "signed" time sheet on the 16th and first day of the month using the "TechProse Incorporated Consultant time sheet." Independent Contractors are required to invoice TechProse for work performed per the terms of their contract, in addition to submitting time-allocation records. Please refer to the "Invoice Instructions" for detailed information.

What if my manager is not available to sign my time sheet?

Fax us an "unsigned" time sheet immediately. When your manager becomes available, fax the "signed" time sheet.

Who do I call if I don't get paid on time?

When will direct deposit kick in?

Direct deposit should start approximately 4 weeks after you turn in your Direct Deposit Request form. Depending on when in the cycle this is, it can take up to 3 pay periods, but it is usually less.

When do benefits kick in?

The option to purchase medical, dental, and vision insurance starts on the first day of the month after 30 days of your start date. You are eligible to participate in the 401(k) plan on the first day of the month after 90 days of employment with TechProse.

Who do I contact to set up my 401(k) plan?

After two months of service with TechProse, call Jim Sherwood at (925) 299-3900 to get the paperwork rolling.

What choices of medical insurance can I purchase?

We have both HMO and PPO options.

Are my project expenses covered?

NO - Expenses are covered only if they are previously approved in writing by TechProse and the client. So don't spend out-of-pocket money unless it has been pre-approved.

How do I process items for reimbursement?

If it is pre-approved, complete the "Expense Report" form, have your manager sign it, and fax it to TechProse.

Do you have any kind of a referral bonus plan?

We'll pay you $500 when you refer a consultant to us that we engage in a project of 200 hours or more, or if we are able to close a project of 200 hours or more based on your lead, within one year of the referral.

How do I keep you apprised of my work in progress?

You will find a "Status Report" form on the enclosed diskette in your employment package along with time sheets. Do keep us apprised of your progress. This will be beneficial for your records as well. Our Account Managers and Resource Managers will be in contact with you every other week or so. They are here to help you be successful, to keep our client up to date, and to help overcome any obstacles that may arise. We'll report client feedback to you as well.

What do you need if I move residence?

If your mailing address changes, please contact us immediately so that we can update your records. This is vital for sending out paychecks and year-end tax forms. New phone numbers and email addresses are important, as well. We want to keep in touch!

How do I find out about upcoming projects?

Visit the Contracts and Jobs section of our web site often. We update projects daily. There is all kinds of good information on our web site—go nuts!! AND talk to your Resource Manager.
